An interview of Vera List conducted 1973 Jan. 9, by Paul Cummings, for the Archives of American Art. List speaks of her early life and family; her family's interests in art; her marriage to Albert List; living in Cleveland, New York, and Connecticut; starting her collection of paintings and sculpture; her purchases of works by young artists; and the personal and emotional reasons for collecting. She discusses her affiliation with the Jewish Museum, Lincoln Center, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Whitney Museum, and she recalls Alan Solomon, George Segal, and Albert A. List.
